On January 20th, 2025, at approximately 3:53 am, the police department was dispatched to the 300 block of North York Street for a burglar alarm. Upon arrival it was determined a convenience store was forcibly entered. While officers were investigating the burglary, other assisting officers were able to track footprints in the snow to a residence. Upon making contact with the individuals inside, two of them were determined to have been involved in the burglary. One of the defendants, Caleb Cornett was taken into custody. The other individual was a juvenile male and will be petitioned to Cumberland County Juvenile Probation. Cornett was transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth Beckley and bail was set at $5,000, secure. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
