Criminal Trespass Arrest

On January 25th, 2022, at approximately 7:05 pm, the police department was dispatched to the 200 block of West Main Street, the American Legion, for an individual refusing to leave. Officers arrived and were informed the individual, later identified as Coon, had been told to leave the meeting room and also been given a letter of trespass. Coon refused to leave and the police were contacted. Contact was made with Coon and he was asked to leave by the officers. Coon exited the building and walked across the street. Coon advised he was “going to take care of the situation” and retrieved an item from the truck of his vehicle. Coon attempted to walk back across the street while holding the item out of view of officers on scene. He was confronted in the street and refused to comply with the direction of the officers, while still attempting to hide the item behind his back. Coon was taken into custody after a physical altercation with officers and the item was determined to be a screw driver. Coon was transported to the Cumberland County Prison and a preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
