On May 3rd, 2022, at 7:55 am, the police department was dispatched to the 300 block of West Green Street to check on the welfare of two occupants of a vehicle parked in the area. The two individuals were either passed out or sleeping according to the complainant. Officers arrived and made contact with the two individuals. The officers attempted to identify the two individuals and while running their information provided, both individuals fled on foot. Officers were able to take one of the individuals into custody after apprehending him. Once in custody it was determined the individual had numerous criminal warrants. The other individual, who was not located, had initially provided a false name. His actual identity was determined and he too was found to have criminal warrants.
The vehicle the individuals were in was found to have been stolen from a business in Harrisburg City. A search of this vehicle later, yielded illegal drugs and various items of drug paraphernalia. Both individuals will have charges filed against them and criminal warrants obtained. It is also believed they were involved in an attempted theft of a motor vehicle and theft from a motor vehicle at a location nearby, which occurred earlier.
