On December 18th, 2024 at approximately 9:30 am, the police department was dispatched to a hit and run crash which occurred in the 300 block of East Main Street. Investigation determined a white Ford F350 was legally parked facing eastbound. The Ford was occupied at the time. A white box truck, approximately 20 feet in length, sideswiped the Ford and continued eastbound. There were no marking on the box truck and the registration was not obtained. The box truck was last seen turning southbound onto South Filbert Street. Minor damage was caused to the Ford and the box truck sustained a broken passenger side view mirror, which was reported to be hanging by the wiring.
A crash involving damage to an attended vehicle or property in which the operator of the striking vehicle does not remain on scene is criminal offense.
