On December 2nd, 2021, at approximately 5:50 am, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of North York Street and East Portland Street for a hit and run crash. Investigation into the crash determined there were two vehicles involved. It was learned the victim had been operating their vehicle northbound on South York Street. The vehicle in front of them was driving erratically. They followed the vehicle as it continued onto North York Street. The vehicle came to a stop in the roadway on North York Street, just past the railroad crossing. The victim drove their vehicle around the stopped vehicle and continued north on North York Street. The victim advised they stopped for the red light at the intersection with East Portland Street and the vehicle struck their vehicle. The striking vehicle went around the victim’s vehicle and left the scene. The victim followed the vehicle, while calling 911. They followed the vehicle as it turned onto Pleasant View Drive off of North York Street. The fleeing vehicle attempted to turn left onto Mulberry Drive, but failed to negotiate the turn and drove over the curb, disabling the vehicle.
Peck was identified as the driver of the vehicle and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. It was determined she was not safe to operate a motor vehicle and she was subsequently arrested. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
