On November 4th, the police department was dispatched to the 100 block of East Simpson Street for a hit and run crash. An unknown eastbound vehicle sideswiped two legally parked vehicles, one of which required towing due to the damage it sustained. A witness described the vehicle as a dark colored mid-2000’s Toyota Camry. The investigating Officer located surveillance camera’s in the area which captured the crash. A registration was obtained from the video for the striking vehicle.

Meanwhile, on November 11th, the police department was dispatched to the 600 block of West Main Street for a hit and run crash. The unknown westbound vehicle sideswiped a legally parked vehicle and continued driving. A witness followed the vehicle to Rutter’s and spoke to the operator, who agreed to go back to the crash scene. Instead, the operator got back in her vehicle and left. A vehicle description was obtained which matched the vehicle from the November 4th hit and run. A mirror, found at the crash, was also determined to be from a mid-2000’s Toyota Camry.

The investigating Officer was able to identify Ashley Kell as the operator from the November 4th hit and run. Video surveillance obtained from November 11th showed the operator also appeared to be Kell. Kell later admitted to being the operator during both incidents.
