Sex Offender – Failure to Comply Arrest



On June 25th, 2020, the police department was notified by the Pennsylvania State Police Megan’s Law Section that John Buckheit was reportedly out of compliance with his court ordered sex offender registration requirements. It was learned through an investigation that Buckheit had not updated his current residence as required. Buckheit had previously resided in the first block of East Simpson Street, but had moved to another location. Buckheit did not make notification to the Megan’s Law Section as required. A warrant of arrest for Buckheit was obtained and the warrant was subsequently served on June 30th, at Magisterial District Judge Mark Martin’s Office. He was arraigned and bail was set at $15,000, unsecured. A preliminary hearing is scheduled to be held at a later date.
