On October 17th, 2024, at approximately 4:49 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of East Simpson Street and South Norway Street for a two vehicle crash. Investigation determined the operator of the silver Camaro, Taha Hourch, was attempting to turn from South Norway Street to travel eastbound onto East Simpson Street. Hourch failed to yield to the oncoming Outback, operated by Rebecca Garner. Garner was unable to stop and the vehicles collided. The Camaro had two additional passengers. One passenger sustained injury and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene as a result of the damage they sustained.
The police department was assisted on scene by the Mechanicsburg Fire Department and by Penn State EMS.
A traffic citation was filed at the conclusion of the investigation.
