On February 5th, 2025 at approximately 8:18 am, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of East Simpson Street and South Chestnut Street for a two vehicle crash. Investigation determined the operator of the white Lexus, Beverly O’Neill, was stopped at the posted stop sign on South Chestnut Street. O’Neill failed to see the blue Smart car, driven by Sandra Snair, approaching on East Simpson Street. O’Neill proceeded from the stop sign without clearance, resulting in a crash. One driver reported an injury and was seen by EMS but declined transport to the hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
