On March 22nd, 2025 at approximately 8:34pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of West Main Street and York Street for a two vehicle crash. Investigation determined Patricia Vargas was operating the white Kia southbound on North York Street and Tami Foust was operating the white Lincoln eastbound on West Main Street. Due to conflicting statements, CCTV footage was obtained. The footage showed Foust had the green light and Vargas entered the intersection a full 24 seconds after the north/south light had changed to red. No injuries were reported, however, both vehicles were towed from the scene due to the damage they sustained.
The police department was assisted on scene by the Mechanicsburg Fire Department.
