On April 30th, 2022, at approximately 5:04 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of South Market and Marble Streets for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Beck was operating his vehicle northbound on South Market Street. He was attempting to turn left onto West Marble Street. Upon making his turn, he pulled into the path of a vehicle travelling southbound on South Market Street. The driver of the vehicle travelling southbound was transported to the hospital for further evaluation of injuries suffered in the crash. Both vehicles required towing from the scene due to the damage they sustained in the crash. Beck was found to be under the influence of alcohol. It was determined he was unable to safely operate a motor vehicle and was subsequently arrested. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date. The police department was assisted on scene by Penn State Health EMS, Hampden Township EMS and the Mechanicsburg Fire Department.
