On October 1st, 2020, the police department was made aware of injuries suffered by two children, ages 2 and 3. This information was given to the police department by Cumberland County Children and Youth. The children were seen at Hershey Medical Center where they both received treatment for their injuries. The parents of the children were identified as Williams and Dupert. During the investigation a detective spoke with Williams who admitted he was babysitting the children. He discovered they “made a mess” and were also found playing with a handgun which was located in a closet by the children. Williams admitted to using a rail from a baby gate to strike both children repeatedly. Williams, nor Dupert, attempted to provide any type of medical care or treatment for the children after the incident. Both the parents were interviewed at the Cumberland County Prison where they had been incarcerated for other criminal charges. Criminal complaints were filed against both parents. Williams and Dupert were arraigned on February 12th, 2021, by Magisterial District Judge Mark Martin. Bail for each of them was set at $10,000, secure. Williams waived his preliminary hearing on February 22nd. Dupert is awaiting her preliminary hearing to occur. Both remain at the Cumberland County Prison.
