On November 21st, 2022, at approximately 11:34 am, the victim contacted the police department regarding a phone call they received regarding their firewall protection expiring. The victim, who resides in the 600 block of Robert Street, was advised they needed to pay $4,600 to keep it active. The victim advised they did not respond to the first phone call. The victim received a second call which they did answer. This caller advised the victim they could purchase 36 months worth of coverage for $2683. The victim provided their bank account and routing numbers. The bank did not process the purchase, so the victim was not out any money. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
