On March 14th, 2021, at approximately 3:08 pm, the police department was dispatched to Memorial Park for a pole on fire. The Mechanicsburg Fire Department and police arrived to find one of the posts, which line the outer perimeter of the park, smoldering. The post was located near the gravel parking lot off of North Washington Street. There were high winds on this day and it is unknown how the fire started. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
