On February 7th, 2023, at approximately 8:24 pm, the police department was dispatched to the 1st block of South George Street for a domestic issue. Officers arrived and met with the victim who advised they had gotten into an argument with their step-son which turned physical. The victim had injuries which were consistent with what was reported. The step-son was identified as Smith and he was arrested. Smith was transported to the Cumberland County Prison where he was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Birbeck. Bail was set at $1,000, secure. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
