On July 23rd, 2020, at approximately 10:15 am officers were dispatched to an apartment building in the 100 block of East Main Street for a possible domestic issue. The complainant reported receiving a phone call from their daughter about an argument that she and her boyfriend got into. Officers arrived and eventually located the female victim. It was determined that the victim and her boyfriend, Hoffman, got into an argument which turned physical. The victim was found to have injuries as a result of the physical altercation. Hoffman was taken into custody at that time. After being taken into custody Hoffman became disorderly. He was screaming obscenities and banged his head on the rear passenger door of the police vehicle. He also slammed his body into the door, causing damage to the door. Charges were filed and he was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Mark Martin. Bail was set at $7,000 unsecure and a preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
