The Mechanicsburg Police Department will be continuing their beard growth for the month of December. The department has been growing their beards and raising money the last two months for Pink Hands of Hope. This month we will be donating all monies raised to First Descents.
First Descents provides life-changing, outdoor adventures for young adults impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions. They are a recognized leader in outdoor experiential programming. Through outdoor adventures, skills development, and local adventure communities FD improves the long-term survivorship of young adults impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions. Their participants experience free outdoor adventure programs that empower them to climb, paddle, and surf beyond their diagnosis, reclaim their lives, and connect with others doing the same. First Descents was chosen after one of our officer’s wives’ lost her battle to cancer in October of 2019. Maria Lazzarevich participated in events established and sponsored by First Descents. It is our desire to donate all monies raised during the month of December to go to First Descents to allow them to continue supporting those that are impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions. Anyone desiring to donate money can send a check or money order to the police department. The check or money order should be made to the police department and write “First Descents” on the memo line. Your support is greatly appreciated.
