On July 18th, 2022, at approximately 5:09 pm, the police department was dispatched to a pharmacy located in the 1st block of East Simpson Street. The officers arrived and were informed a customer came into the pharmacy and provided a prescription. Due to the medication listed on the prescription, the pharmacist contacted the subscribing doctor. It was determined the prescription was fraudulent. The pharmacist had directed the customer to return in a few minutes, stating it would be ready for pick up. The pharmacist contacted police. Officers waited in the area to see if the prescription was going to be picked up. The customer did not return. It was later learned a group of individuals attempted to pass fraudulent prescriptions at other pharmacies in the area. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
