On August 30th, at approximately 10:28 pm, the police department was dispatched to an active hit and run. Witnesses advised a vehicle was travelling westbound in the 400 block of West Simpson Street. The vehicle struck multiple parked vehicles and continued without stopping. The striking vehicle was last seen turning southbound onto South Broad Street. Officers were unable to locate the striking vehicle. Debris from the scene determined the vehicle is a black in color Ford Fusion. It is believed to be in between the model years of 2013-2020. One of the struck vehicles required towing from the scene due to the damage sustained from impact. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the police department.
UPDATE: The striking vehicle and driver were both located and identified. The driver was identified as Shumaker and multiple traffic offenses will be filed.
