On July 12th, 2021, at approximately 2:48 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of East Main and North Walnut Streets for a tractor trailer striking a pole at the intersection. The tractor trailer operator did not stop after striking the pole. A witness reported the incident along with a description of the tractor trailer. An officer arrived in the area and observed damage to the pole and traffic box. The tractor trailer was making an illegal turn at the intersection when it struck the pole. The officer was able to locate the tractor trailer with the assistance of GPS tracking from the trucking company. The driver was identified and will have traffic citations filed against them.
