On September 26th, 2021, at approximately 9:03 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of South Market and Simpson Streets. Dispatch advised the traffic light pole at the intersection had been struck by a tractor trailer, which had left the scene. The tractor trailer was last seen travelling southbound on South Market Street. The light pole was struck while the tractor trailer was making a turn. The light pole located on the southwest corner of the intersection, suffered damage to the pole and the pedestrian crossing signs on the pole. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
