On August 31st, 2022, at approximately 11:57 am, a neighbor observed a vehicle had their side view mirror struck by a passing vehicle. The neighbor did not see the crash, but observed the damage. Officers spoke with the vehicle owner and it was determined to be a hit and run crash. The crash is believed to have occurred earlier in the morning, between 3:00 and 4:00 am, as the neighbor heard a noise consistent with the damage around that time. The struck vehicle was parked in the 100 block of East Portland Street on the south side of the street facing eastbound. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
