On May 4th, 2024, at approximately 7:44 PM the Mechanicsburg Police Department was dispatched to the 800 block of Old Silver Spring Road for unwanted communication. An investigation revealed the defendant, identified as Austin Bishop, was contacting the victim in violation of a protection from abuse order issued by the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas. Bishop was contacted by the Mechanicsburg Police Department and refused to turn himself in resulting in a warrant for his arrest being issued. On May 11th, 2024, Bishop was arrested in another county. He was transported to Cumberland County Prison and is awaiting a hearing.
