Resisting Arrest

On February 4th, 2024 at approximately 1:25 am, an Officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. The operator was identified as Thomas Scott Jr. During the investigation, Scott was found to be under the influence of alcohol. It was determined Scott was under the influence to the degree he could not safely operate a motor vehicle. When officers attempted to arrest Scott, he began resisting and a physical altercation took place. During the altercation, both officers sustained injuries. Scott was able to flee the area. He was later located and taken into custody. Scott was transported the hospital and upon release was transported to the Cumberland County Prison where he was processed and arraigned. Magisterial District Judge Daniel J. Freedman set bail at $100,000. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date. One of the officers required transport to the hospital due to the injuries they sustained. They were later released and will be receiving follow up treatment.
