On October 1st, 2021, a robbery occurred at the Rutter’s located at 714 West Main Street. Photographs of the suspect were released and an anonymous tip led to the identification of a male suspect. Further investigation determined the individual responsible for the robbery was Marcelino Baez. Officers took Baez into custody during an unrelated traffic stop on October 20th, 2021. Baez was taken into custody initially for an active bench warrant from Dauphin County. An interview took place and Baez ultimately admitted his involvement in the robbery. Baez was transported to the Cumberland County Prison after the interview and a criminal complaint was filed against him. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Michael Sanderson. Bail was set at $75,000. The firearm displayed during the robbery was recovered. A preliminary hearing was held on November 8th, 2021. All charges were bound over to the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas.
