On July 1st, 2022, at approximately 4:35 pm, the police department received a phone call from the victim advising they had $300 taken from them. The victim, who resides in the 200 block of West Locust Street, advised they made a purchase through Facebook Market Place. The seller and the victim agreed to the purchase of an item for $300. The victim made payment through PayPal, but has not received the actual item. The seller is no longer communicating with the victim after the money was sent. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
