On January 6th, 2023, at approximately 5:05 pm, the victim contacted the police department regarding a purchase they made through Facebook Market Place. The victim who resides in the 800 block of Old Silver Spring Road made arrangements to purchase a Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU, which is a computer part. The victim agreed to send only half of the amount the part was for sale. They also had the individual send screenshots of them sending the part via UPS. Once it was verified to be sent, the victim sent the rest of the money owed. Upon receiving the box it was found to be empty. The original seller now is not returning any communications to the victim. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the police department.
