On April 27th, 2023, at approximately 4:37 pm, the police department was dispatched to the 1st block of East Simpson Street for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Sumner was operating his vehicle westbound on East Simpson Street. The vehicle in front of his, being operated by Mauger, began slowing for traffic. Sumner was not able to stop his vehicle prior to striking the rear of Mauger’s vehicle. Sumner’s vehicle required towing from the scene due to the damage it sustained in the crash.
