On November 26th, 2023, at approximately 11:47 am, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of East Simpson Street and South Chestnut Street for a crash which just occurred. Investigation determined Santolla was traveling southbound on South Chestnut Street while Reck was traveling eastbound on East Simpson Street. Westbound traffic was stopped. Santolla attempted to cross the intersection and did not see Reck approaching from the west. Santolla drove into the path of Reck, causing a crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene as a result of the damage they sustained. One of the drivers suffered an injury from the airbag and was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
