On February 23rd, 2024, at approximately 3:06 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of South Market Street and Marble Street for a crash which just occurred. Investigation determined the operator of an eastbound vehicle read the “cross traffic does not stop” sign and interpreted it as they did not have to stop for the posted stop sign. After slowing down, they attempted to continue eastbound onto East Marble Street. Upon entering the intersection, their vehicle was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on South Market Street, which had the right-of-way. Both vehicles were towed from the scene as a result of the damage they sustained. No injuries were sustained by any of the occupants.
