On March 1st, 2024, at approximately 3:34 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of East Simpson Street and South Walnut Street for a crash which just occurred. Investigation determined three vehicles were involved and all were traveling westbound on East Simpson Street at the time. It was determined that M. Campbell failed to react to changing traffic conditions and rear-ended a stopped vehicle. The struck vehicle was then pushed into the vehicle stopped in front of it. Three people were transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation. Two vehicles were towed from the scene as a result of damage they sustained.
