On May 29th, 2024 at approximately 4:59pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of North Walnut Street and East Allen Street for a crash which just occurred. Investigation determined Rinker was driving northbound on North Walnut Street while Sakalabhaktula was driving eastbound on East Allen Street. Sakalabhaktula stopped for the posted stop sign and proceeded across the intersection when Rinker was approaching. Sakalabhaktula advised Rinker failed to stop at the stop sign, causing the crash. Sakalabhaktula was made aware that north and southbound traffic does not have a stop sign, and therefore has the right-of-way. Sakalabhaktula’s vehicle was towed from the scene as a result of the damage it sustained.
