On November 27th, 2020, at approximately 6:46 am, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of West Main Street and West Simpson Street for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash determined a vehicle, operated by Cassidy, was travelling on West Simpson Street attempting to turn left onto West Main Street. A vehicle in front of Cassidy’s went around another vehicle and Cassidy followed. Upon Cassidy entering into the intersection the traffic light had changed to red for Cassidy’s direction. A vehicle operated by Negley, was travelling eastbound on West Main Street, struck Cassidy’s vehicle upon entering into the intersection. Both vehicles required towing from the scene due to the damage sustained in the crash. Negley was transported to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation. The police department was assisted on scene by Geisinger EMS and the Mechanicsburg Fire Department.
