Aggressive Driving Enforcement

The Mechanicsburg Police Department is joining the Pennsylvania State Police and over 300 other law enforcement agencies across Pennsylvania in a coordinated effort to crack down on aggressive driving. This effort will continue through April 28th, 2024 and will focus on aggressive driving actions such as speeding, tailgating, running stop signs and red lights, and careless passing.

PennDOT data shows aggressive driving was a contributing factor in over 7,200 crashes in 2022.

The summer season is a peak time for traffic crashes, but there are some common-sense rules you can follow to keep safe and ticket free. First, buckle up and make sure everyone else does, too. Follow the speed limit and avoid tailgating, red light running, and other aggressive driving behaviors. Always stay focused and avoid distractions like cell phone use and texting.
