With the assistance of the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office and the Cumberland County Forensics Laboratory, search warrants were executed and evidence processed. This led to the suspect being identified as Timothy Zidik who is the victim’s boyfriend. An arrest warrant was issued and Zidik was taken into custody on October 24th, 2023. Zidik was transported to the Cumberland County Prison where he was arraigned and is currently being held on $100,000.00 bail.
On October 11th, 2023, at approximately 5:26 am., the Mechanicsburg Police Department was made aware of a shooting. The victim went to the emergency room with a gunshot wound to their face. Injuries to the victim were not life threatening. An investigation was initiated by the police department along with other Cumberland County entities. It has been determined the shooting occurred inside a residence and is an isolated incident. There is no threat to public safety. Due to the ongoing investigation, further details are unable to be released at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department.
