On October 25th, 2023, at approximately 6:14 pm, the police department was dispatched to the 1st block of East Portland Street for a hit and run crash which occurred about 30 minutes prior. A witness advised a small black SUV or hatchback with a unknown North Carolina registration struck a parked vehicle and continue without providing information. Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact the police department.
