On April 10th, 2023, at approximately 3:45 pm, the victim contacted the police department about a theft which just occurred. The victim advised they were attempting to sell a cell phone through Facebook Marketplace. A buyer contacted the victim and they agreed to meet in the 100 block of West Main Street. The buyer arrived at the location with two other persons. The victim gave the cell phone to the buyer and all three ran off with the victim’s cell phone in their possession. The victim gave chase and the buyer dropped the cell phone while running. The victim advised the cell phone was not damaged. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
Individuals are reminded about the dangers of meeting with anyone to sell or purchases items when the person is not known. The safety of everyone involved is of the utmost importance.
