On November 5th, 2023 at approximately 4:50 pm., the Mechanicsburg Police Department was dispatched to the first block of E. Stouffer Alley for a male sleeping in a running vehicle stopped on the roadway at a stop sign. An Officer arrived on scene and identified the driver as Edward Gerg. Signs of impairment were detected and further investigation concluded Gerg was under the influence. It was determined he was under the influence to the degree he could not safely operate a motor vehicle. Gerg was arrested and transported to Cumberland County Prison where he was processed. A preliminary hearing will be held on a later date.
