On May 6th, 2023, at approximately 11:05 pm, an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 100 block of West Main Street. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Whelan and he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. It was determined Whelan was not safe to operate a motor vehicle and he was arrested. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
