On August 8th, 2022, an employee of a business, located in the 400 block Cheryl Avenue, contacted the police department about checks being forged and payment made to unauthorized persons. The employee became aware of two checks being cashed with payment made to persons who were unknown. It was determined the two checks cashed had the same check number of a check which had been written to another business for payment. This check was not received by the business. It was determined this check was taken, forged and cashed. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
