On April 20th, 2023, at approximately 3:10 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of South York and West Marble Streets for a crash which just occurred. Upon arriving officers determined a pedestrian had been struck and the striking vehicle left the scene. The pedestrian was in the cross walk attempting to cross South York Street eastbound in the north crosswalk. Upon stepping into the crosswalk the juvenile was struck by the passenger side mirror and their foot was run over. A witness to the crash was able to take a photograph of the vehicle’s registration. Investigation into the crash led to the identity of the driver. Charges were filed against them.
