On July 19th, 2023 at approximately 9:06 am, the Police Department was dispatched to a hit and run crash which had just occurred. The Victim was traveling eastbound on East Main Street, and was stopped behind another turning vehicle. Upon that vehicle making it’s turn onto North Walnut Street, the traffic signal turned red. A vehicle following the Victim passed on the right-hand side and in doing so, sideswiped the Victim. The operator of the striking vehicle proceeded eastbound without stopping to provide their information. The striking vehicle was described as a dark colored hatchback or small sedan.
