On November 30th, 2022, at approximately 2:30 pm, the victim contacted the police department about a bank account which was opened in their name. The victim, who resides in the 800 block of Old Silver Spring Road, advised they were contacted by a bank employee by phone. The employee advised the victim their account had been overdrawn. The victim advised they did not open an account at the bank. The bank advised unemployment benefits were deposited into the account on four different dates. The victim advised they had not applied for any unemployment benefits either. It is unknown how the victim’s information was obtained. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
