On August 24th, 2022, at approximately 2:01 pm, the police department was contacted by the victim advising their bank account had been taken over. The victim, who resides in the 100 block of East Keller Street, received an email stating their banking account information had been changed. The victim had not made any changes to their account. The victim contacted their bank and it was discovered the victim had several unauthorized transactions on their account, along with their email address and phone number being changed. There was a total loss of over $53,000 between 6/21 and 6/22. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
