On January 12th, 2022, at approximately 11:00 am, the victim contacted the police department about their name being used to open a second bank account. The victim resides in the 1st block of East Portland Street. The victim has a joint account with the bank, but received notification a second account had been opened. Upon being opened, there were two transactions where money was taken from the victim’s account and transferred to the new account. The bank was notified of the issue immediately upon the victim finding it. It is unknown how the victim’s identifying information was obtained. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
