Occupied Hit and Run Crash

On November 3rd, 2022, at approximately 4:41 pm, the victim contacted the police department about a hit and run crash they were involved in earlier. The victim advised they were stopped at the intersection of East Keller Street and Shepherdstown Road. The victim advised they were on East Keller Street facing west. They were attempting to cross over Shepherdstown Road to continue on East Keller Street. Traffic was backed up for the red light at Shepherdstown Road and East Simpson Street. The victim advised there was a gap between a maroon SUV and the vehicle in front of it. The victim advised they waved to the driver and they waved back. The victim advised they thought they were waving to give him permission to cross over the intersection, in front of the SUV. Upon pulling into the intersection the SUV continued forward and scraped the victim’s vehicle. He pulled to the side of the road, but the driver of the SUV drove away, leaving the scene. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department.
