On September 13th, 2023 at approximately 9:20 pm., the Mechanicsburg Police Department was dispatched for a suspicious vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted in the first block of North Railroad Avenue. The passenger inside the vehicle was identified as Tara Lyter. Due to information obtained during an investigation, it was determined Lyter would be detained. When Officers attempted to detain her, Lyter resisted their efforts. Lyter was eventually arrested and found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. She was transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
