On April 14th, 2024, at approximately 3:41 PM the Mechanicsburg Police Department was dispatched to the 800 block of North Arch Street for a 911 hang up. Upon arrival, officers learned an altercation occurred between the suspect, identified as Buddhi Rai, and the victim. After the altercation, the victim was locked in their room while Rai was holding a knife threatening to kill the victim. Rai was arrested and transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment. A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date.
