On February 9th, 2022 at approximately 9:27 am, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of South Washington and West Simpson Streets for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Ali was operating her vehicle northbound on South Washington Street. Upon reaching the intersection with West Simpson Street she attempted to put her foot on the brake pedal and instead pushed the gas. This caused her vehicle to not stop at the stop sign and enter into the intersection. Ali’s vehicle was struck by an eastbound vehicle being operated by Lubnow. Lubnow was travelling on West Simpson Street and could not stop in time to avoid a collision. Ali’s vehicle required towing from the scene due to the damage it sustained in the crash.
