On September 8th, 2022, at approximately 3:55 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of South Market and Keller Streets for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Piechowicz was operating his vehicle west on East Keller Street. He stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with South Market Street. Piechowicz pulled into the intersection and his vehicle was struck by a southbound vehicle being operated by Murtha, who had the right of way. Piechowicz was transported to the hospital by ambulance for further evaluation of injuries. Both vehicles required towing from the scene due to the damage caused by the crash. The police department was assisted on scene by Penn State Health EMS.
